New beginnings and new years :)
Happy 2015 folks, although the new year isn't that new anymore. Celebrations have ceased and festivities faded and now most of us have got accustomed to writing 2015 instead of 2014 whenever we write dates!
Oh yes! It was such a pain back in school when the writing "dates' on notebooks was mandatory. And upon failure of this formality, we were threatened with dire consequences. DATES!! Seriously. But then that's how schools in India are about. And with every new year coming the struggle was to replace the existing year with the current one in the "mention the date column. Quite a task it was. And then as they say, time flies and from writing dates we graduated to going on dates, not that we did NOT have to WRITE dates but yeah, the consequences were much less severe :P
Anyways the point is with every new year comes a lot of responsibility, now that is entirely subject to our discretion, whether we want to take them up or not. We make resolutions, NEW YEAR RESOLUTIONS which range from going to the gym or quitting alcohol or smoking or even getting over your crush or maybe scoring well in the exams and blah blah! My new year resolution was pretty simple. I decided I will comb my hair everyday only to realize how BIG and CHALLENGINg that was and off course I didn't really follow that for more than a week. Let these lame talks just stop for now and lets get into some serious business..
Yes, its philosophy time!! all ears set?
So yeah, with every new year that comes there are expectations, aspirations, hope and then the effort to strike a match of all of these with reality. There is zeal, there is enthusiasm and a desire to do things in a different way, make fresh starts, be better human begins and blah blah! These new years I tell you, are such a breather amidst our so-called hectic living. You know, when the year is about to end you feel that there is this baggage that you have been carrying for long, and more often that not it is big and heavy and extremely unnecessary. And then you come to the conclusion that Its time to just dump it. I think new years are the best times to let go, of things, habits and PEOPLE!! You have something to look forward to in life and make fresh starts without any guilts, without any hiccups..Love your life and live it the way you want to. Eventually you do get bogged down by the length of life which deprives you of its breadth but then as long as possible you can continue in your own world of bliss.. "dukh and dard" will eventually follow coz what's the whole point of this "zaalim duniya" without the usual pains of life :P
But that does not take away the delight of new year. The joy of a fresh new start coz you get a lease of life!
Cheers!
